On an Atlantic crossing, set in the middle of the 20th Century, Henry, a young American romantic, meets Lili endearing, passionate, and French. Enchanted by her charm, looks, and mystery he knows only to perceive her as the girl from his fantasy world. None of the clues of Lili's past or viewing Paris through Lili's eyes awaken Henry to the real Lili and he resolutely holds onto his fortuitous apparition.
