Synopsis

In this book I have tried to point out that there are always two sides to every story, a lesson that is applicable to every conflict of life. If you don't know both sides of the story, how can you make a rational decision as to what the whole truth is? The Gospel of Jesus Christ is based on the foundation of the virgin birth; His holy and miraculous life; His death, burial, and resurrection; and His imminent return in glory. Apart from that, everything else is what I call an "elective" subject. I doubt if there are any two people in my church that agree on every point. But we can all agree on the foundational truth of the Gospel and then give each other the liberty to examine and discover truths in Scripture that enhance our faith, hope, vision, and calling in Christ Jesus. If there is a bottom line to these writings, it would be that all of the above have given me greater vision, faith in God, hope for the future, and a deep-seated desire to be faithful to my Lord, my family, my congregation, and my calling. Biographie de l'auteur

The Insanity of Christianity is the result of fifty years of study and research. The author has experienced a variety of vocations during his lifetime; however, for over forty-three years he has been founder and pastor of the same church in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Pastor J.V. Foster began his preaching ministry at the age of twenty-six following a hitch in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. It was while he was stationed as a sailor boy on the Island of Guam that he began to study the Bible in depth. At that time he began to realize that many of the commonly accepted beliefs of Christianity he had been taught as a child had little or no actual basis of truth in the Scriptures. When the Lord called him to the ministry after this period of intensive study, he evangelized for several years before becoming the founder and pastor of Bethesda Temple of San Antonio, later known as Bethesda Christian Institute. His book is controversial and challenging to traditional concepts, but it is also enlightening if one has an open mind and a heart to research and discover what is hidden between the lines in God's Word.
