Edwin J. Sharp has had an ongoing interest in history from his early age. He possesses an intense interest in the American ideals that prompted the writings of this book. He has maintained close relationships with his classmates over the years who share his thoughts in this presentation of their recalled memories dating back to 1940. The theme of this story focuses on these early friendships during their formative years and their personal experiences of the Great Depression and the World War II years. Mr. Sharp served three years in the U. S. Army with a tour of duty in Korea. He is a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, Wheeling, West Virginia where he received a B.S. degree. His life-long goal was achieved when he was appointed as a Special Agent of the FBI in 1962. His career assignments took him to several eastern and southern cities as well as three tours of duty at FBI Headquarter in Washington, D.C. While in the FBI his background expertise was focused on Organized Crime investigations. Upon his mandatory retirement in 1989, he was the Assistant Director of Administration. Mr. Sharp is married and has four grown children and resides in Winchester, Virginia.
