An American author of great repute, Richard Harding Davis (1864 - 1961) was famous as a war - correspondent and for his adventure - seeking nature. Davis brilliantly covered the Spanish - American War, the Second Boer War, and the First World War. His writings were informed by his famous travels throughout Central America, Rhodesia, and South Africa. Davis worked as a reporter for the New York Herald, The Times, and Scribner's Magazine.
