Synopsis

Poetry is a special way to present a subject with intensity and the beauty of the language. It is a way of looking at things and a way of feeling the emotions of the moment through language. From the age of twelve, the lure of poetry crept into the author's love of literature and he became more aware of how words were crafted to achieve greater depth, beauty, vibrancy, and intensity.

Mr. Fitton says that in writing poetry, his objective is to capture the heart and mind of the reader and produce new epiphanies for himself and others. He lives up to his objective in this lively, vibrant book that includes poems on love, joy, sadness, suffering, hope, stress, vanity, religion, pessimism, helplessness, fortitude, and a host of other topics, some in haiku, that capture the human spirit and its many faces.

Musings is truly a banquet of delights, and there is pleasure in finding music in the words. It is clear the author has deftly used the richness of the language, aiming for both depth and simplicity to make the reading sheer pleasure. Read the poems and feel the impact. They come from the heart.
