My personal journey to Fort Clinch (Fernandina, Florida) where my research revealed that "Union Lieutenant Jeremiah Philbrook" was one of the soldiers in the Maine 11th Infantry who occupied Fernandina, Florida from June, 1863 to October, 1863. Fort Clinch (Fernandina, Florida) is located only 30 miles from Jacksonville, Florida where I live today.
