John Owen (1616-1683) was vice chancellor of Oxford University and served as advisor and chaplain to Oliver Cromwell. Among the most learned and active of the Puritans in seventeenth-century Europe, and known as the theologian's theologian, he was accomplished both in doctrine and practical theology.
<br /><br />Andrew S. Ballitch (PhD, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is the associate pastor of preaching and ministries at Westwood Alliance Church in Ontario, Ohio. He has taught church history courses at Boyce College, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Crown College, and has published and edited numerous books and articles on the sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Puritans.
<br /><br />Lee Gatiss (PhD, University of Cambridge) is the director of church society and a lecturer in church history at Union School of Theology. He is assistant editor of The Global Anglican and on the editorial board of Studies in Puritanism and Piety. He has written and edited more than thirty books on the Bible, theology, and church history. He and his family serve at Christ Church, Cambridge in the UK.
<br /><br />Shawn Wright (PhD, Southern Seminary) serves as Professor of Church History at Southern Seminary and Pastor of Leadership Development at Clifton Baptist in Louisville, Kentucky. He has published or edited books on ecclesiology, Calvinism, and the life and theology of Theodore Beza. He is married to Gretchen, and they are the parents of five sons.
