Synopsis

With only limited amateur experience, Jamie Calder embarks on a career as a professional boxer.Finding someone to manage and promote him proves easier than he expects, but he soon learns that boxing can be open to exploitation.Jack Hyslop's interest in Jamie and the other boxers in his stable is limited to how he can make money from them. Biographie de l'auteur

The author, a retired local government officer, lives in the Orkney Isles with his wife, Rosemary and their three sons.He has always been interested in boxing.For a brief period whilst serving in the army, the author boxed for his regiment. His coach was a sergeant Matt McKrindle who he learned later had been Scottish Amateur Heavyweight Champion. (Matt bears no resemblance to the Neil McKrindle depicted in this book).
