Heidi L. Powers, native of Oklahoma City, OK, was born April 7, 1966. Being daughter number three, twelve years younger than daughter number one, Heidi was a very precocious child, walking at the age eight months. At age 3 ? she was enrolled in Touchstone Montessori School. Her education continued in the Parochial School System until she begged her mother to allow her to attend public schools, her mother finally relented and she was allowed to enter the Public School System her Junior year, graduating from Northeast High School May of 1984. In the fall of 1984, entered Central State University, now University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK and became the first black cheerleader in the history of the University. Heidi, now mother of two, Vincent 22 and Kobe 8 is a true soccer mom. She chaperoned her oldest around the country as he performed in various track meets up to the National level in USA Track and Field events in the Junior Olympics. Now supporting her youngest as he plays soccer and prepares to compete in gymnastics, which was her first love as a young girl. She is a member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, where she assists in the Special Events Ministry supporting her second love, as a wedding coordinator. Her passion is working with teens, particularly, unwed teenage moms. Her dream is having a girl?s ranch aiding in the development of life skills, thus empowering young women to become productive citizens.
