Biographie de l'auteur

The Author, Neil Maycock, graduated from the University of Hull in 1979 with a BSc(Hons) in 'Special Biochemistry'. He joined the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in 1984 as one of HM Inspectors of Health and Safety, and in 1987 obtained a post-graduate Diploma in 'Safety and Health' from Aston University. During his time with HSE, Neil developed a broad based understanding of the legal and technical aspects of Health & Safety legislation, and demonstrated a positive and pro-active approach to influencing Health & Safety management in a wide and diverse range of businesses. In 1997, he moved into industry, joining the Rover Group as the Safety Manager at their Longbridge manufacturing plant and subsequently progressed to become their Chief Safety Advisor. Later, as Head of Business Protection for MG Rover Group, he developed a broader range of interpersonal and managerial skills. In January 2004, Neil joined the construction and services company Carillion as their Director of Safety and Sustainability, a role that provided the opportunity to influence a major FTSE-listed company on its approach to Health & Safety management. In Spring 2007, Neil left Carillion to establish Integrated Safety Ltd, a consultancy designed specifically to assist businesses in improving their management of workplace Health & Safety. Neil is a Chartered (previously Corporate, since 1990) Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
