An American author of great repute, Richard Harding Davis (18641961) was famous as a war-correspondent and for his adventure-seeking nature. Davis brilliantly covered the Spanish-American War, the Second Boer War, and the First World War. His writings were informed by his famous travels throughout Central America, Rhodesia, and South Africa. Davis worked as a reporter for the New York Herald, The Times, and Scribners Magazine.
