Whether through natural evolution over a long period of time by chance or by design or whether through creation in His image by a maker, collective Man by his very human nature has innate capacities for both aggressive behavior leading to brutal violence as well as altruistic behavior leading to compassionate caring. In either case, he behaves in ways perceived to be a gain in personal or group advantage. Using the wonderful capacities of our human minds, collectively we can immediately begin to take these Five Steps towards greatly diminishing the most extreme forms of human violence.

ROGER COLLEY is a retired corporate business executive residing in his hometown Philadelphia area. A graduate from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, he served as President of two public companies known as the technical leaders in their respective fields. Entrepreneurial in spirit, he also provided guidance to a number of start-up enterprises in a variety of markets. In addition, he devoted fifteen years as a Trustee of the highly regarded The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Turning his attention to world events, he recently embarked upon writing an ongoing series of essays regarding human violence.
