Synopsis

Alternative Hymn Tunes is a book of music arrangements primarily intended to replace the commonly repeated tunes found in the hymn book Hymns Ancient and Modern. The book contains a selection of alternative tunes, as well as others that were in constant demand at the time of its publication in 1902. The author, Charles William Alfred Brooke, was an English organist and composer who served as the organist and choirmaster at several churches throughout his career. This book is a valuable resource for musicians, church leaders, and anyone interested in traditional Christian hymns and their musical accompaniments. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
