Synopsis

""An Introduction to the Study of Jurisprudence"" is a book that was originally written in German by Anton Friedrich Justus Thibaut in 1855. This book is a translation of the original German text, and it provides readers with an overview of the study of jurisprudence. The book is intended for students who are beginning their studies in law, and it covers a wide range of topics related to legal theory and philosophy. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which explores a different aspect of jurisprudence. The first chapter provides an introduction to the study of law and the role of jurisprudence in legal education. The second chapter examines the different schools of thought in legal theory, including natural law, positivism, and legal realism. The third chapter focuses on the relationship between law and morality, while the fourth chapter explores the concept of legal reasoning. The book also includes chapters on legal history, comparative law, and the philosophy of law. Throughout the book, Thibaut emphasizes the importance of critical thinking and analysis in the study of law. He argues that students must understand the underlying principles and theories that inform legal systems in order to be effective practitioners.Overall, ""An Introduction to the Study of Jurisprudence"" is a comprehensive guide to the study of law and legal theory. It provides students with a solid foundation in the key concepts and principles of jurisprudence, and it encourages them to think critically about the role of law in society. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. The importance to students of English law of some acquaintance with the principles of Roman jurisprudence is no longer insisted upon by a few, but is recognised by the majority of the leading men of the day. The appearance, therefore, for the first time, of an English translation of the best summary of the elementary principles of Roman law which has ever appeared scarcely requires apology. Nevertheless, an explanation of the more immediate objects which the translator has had in view seems requisite, as well to prevent disappointment on the part of the reader, as to justify the translator in the course he has adopted. Whoever reflects for a moment upon the present condition of English law, and upon the enormous quantity of the materials from which alone a useful knowledge of its actual state is obtainable, cannot fail to see that no person who has to master them will have time at his command seriously to study the details of the Roman, or any other system of jurisprudence. Such a study is itself sufficient to engross the whole time and attention of p.
