Synopsis

""Origin and History of the New Testament"" is a historical and theological work written by James Martin in 1871. The book explores the origins and development of the New Testament, the collection of writings that form the basis of the Christian faith. Martin provides a detailed analysis of the historical context in which the New Testament was written, including the political, social, and religious factors that influenced its authors. He discusses the different genres of literature found in the New Testament, such as Gospels, Epistles, and Apocalyptic literature, and provides insights into the themes and messages of each book. Martin also examines the process by which the New Testament was compiled and canonized, and the controversies and debates that surrounded this process. The book is written in a scholarly and accessible style, making it a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history and theology of the New Testament. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
