Spears is a servant-leadership scholar at Gonzaga University and President of the Spears Center for Servant-Leadership. Together, Ferch and Spears coedited (with Mary McFarland and Michael R. Carey) Conversations on Servant-Leadership: Insights on Human Courage in Life and Work, also published by SUNY Press.
