Building for Ministry has been deemed an "essential read" for pastors, building committee chairmen and seminary students who are, or will be, confronted with the prospects of expanding their ministry through building. This volume deals with the practical issues of facility expansion by providing a step by step guide to church building. The methodology outlined in the book eliminates the monetary and human energy costs resulting from inadequate planning, and the resultant ill will created by budgetary overruns. This book will answer the question, "What do we do first?" You will not only discover what to prioritize, but also, and perhaps more importantly, what to avoid.

Richard C. White Church Building Consultant Dick has been involved in development and construction for more than 36 years during which he has been responsible for the design and construction of numerous churches, industrial parks, office buildings, private schools, and retail facilities. His experiences as a developer, general contractor, real estate broker, syndicator, project manager and owner's representative have provided him an enviable platform of extensive expertise. Mr. White is equally well-versed in managing large renovation projects, such as the 60,000 square foot World Relief Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. Several of his projects have won industry awards for maintaining budgetary constraints, completion schedules, efficiency of design and exceptional customer relations. Inspired by a passion for Christian service, he has developed a unique team-approach to the building process, incorporating the lessons learned from his sixteen years in pastoral ministry, during which he led several of his congregations through the building process. Dick has literally written the book on a construction methodology that has saved churches thousands of dollars. His plan of organization eliminates the monetary and human energy costs which result from poor design, and the ill will created by budgetary overruns. He presently serves as President of Your Church Rep, LLC, a church-building consulting firm, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Testimonials "...to have completed our new headquarters within budget is an enormous achievement, and one for which we will be permanently indebted to you."Dr. Clive Carver, President World Relief "...important, effective pre-construction coordination"Edwin Peery - Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church "...professional, exceptional communication, patience and efforts in planning."
