Mr. Malik, carries rich memories of the sights and sounds of his native open country, the Kahoon valley in the Salt Range of Pakistan. The melancholy cooing of the dove, in the sparsely wooded country, continues to lend resonance to his memory; hence the title, 'Kahoon Coos: Poetical Ruminations.'Now a professor of English at a local Business School, Mr. Malik's first professional calling was Army. He served in the Pakistan Army as a commissioned officer for twenty two years, before retiring at the rank of a major in December 1992. He earned his masters degrees in English and Political Science during the course of his military career. Mr. Malik's abiding interest in the English Language has borne its first fruit; the flavor of this poetic Endeavour, however, lies in its tasting.
