Synopsis

This Phoenix Still Rises represents my admiration of the mythological bird in Greek mythology that burned itself to death and rose again as a new creature. Although I am a Christian and baptism represents "becoming a new creature", the element of the rebirth of the Phoenix represents the multiple times I've faced adversity and defeat but rose again via perseverance. This work is a small compilation of my poetry from 1986 to 2008. I consider my poetry style "Straight Bardism" which I self-describe as "brief and straight to the point". Enjoy my effort, Thank you.

I am, Darryl C. Moore. I grew up in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. I'm a proud graduate of the Chicago Public School system and a proud graduate of Chicago State University with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Records Administration (now known as Health Information Management).
