Retiring early at 61, I found time to write this book drawing together several true historical incidents from the North East of England dating back hundreds or years. After obtaining an honours degree in Biochemistry, I was awarded a PhD in the subject whilst serving in H.M. Forces studying the subjects of Pathology. I helped, in a small way, many sports people to achieve Olympic Medals, World Titles and records, through my knowledge of Sports Medicine and Performance Diagnostics. I have had many articles published on those subjects, especially about Swimming Training. My passions include gardening and fly fishing. Archeology and ancient history have always been of great interest and I have visited many of the World's great sites.I live in the North East of England and I am passionate about my area. The people and its history can rival anywhere in Britain.I would like to think that anyone reading my book, would come to this area and see for themselves the history, beauty and splendour of the buildings and countryside. They would not be disappointed.
