Synopsis

Written and illustrated by Paula Veschore, The Resourceful Miss Shivers is an incredibly tender tale that shows children that cooperation and friendship are two of the finest points of life. A veritable feast for the eyes, the richly detailed images are matched only by the touching qualities of the characters, which include two alpacas, a flock of chickens, a flock of ducks, a dog, a turkey, a horse and two very opinionated crows. Miss Shivers is a plucky alpaca with an infectious charm and a big dream. She wants to knit a sweater to keep herself warm. They don't call her Miss Shivers for nothing. The thing is, is that she knows she cannot do it on her own. So over lunch one day she devises a plan that will involve the entire barnyard in cooperation and fun. From chickens that peck sticks and seeds from an abandoned fleece, to a horse that helps create the knitting needles from an old pitchfork, readers will be amazed and amused with the resourcefulness of Miss Shivers.
