A deeper look at prayer that moves from theory to daily life.
Creative Prayer invites you to see the priesthood of intercession as a living, personal calling that brings God’s love into everyday moments.
Across thoughtful chapters, the book argues that true priesthood rests in identification with human need and in offering oneself to God for the good of others. It challenges the idea of detached or impersonal spirituality, urging readers to bring kindness, sacrifice, and mercy into ordinary work, family, and community. The pages explore vocation, self-surrender, and the power of prayer to transform both the believer and the world they touch.
Ideal for readers seeking a practical, hopeful approach to prayer that honors both divine grace and human longing.

Prayer may be roughly divided into those which treat of its scientific aspect, whether it be from the standpoint of philosophy or from that of psychology, and those which are written with a purely devotional purpose. In these pages I have endeavoured to elucidate the meaning and value of prayer as a creative process, whereby the man who prays and his world are made anew. In Chapter I. I have sought to present what I conceive to be the fundamental conditions of prayer as creative energy. The worshipper, as Pro fessor W. E. Hocking has it, does not merely sustain, but creates. All beauty, as Plato thought, incites to reproduction. It incites perhaps to something more than reproduction to origination. Some superabundance there is in the vision of God which sends the seer back not to the old but to the new. This creative vision is a central element in Christian prayer. In Chapters II. and III. I have dealt with two great aids to creative prayer Silence and Meditation trying to show that, so far from being the esoteric hobbies of mystical devotees, they are essential to the virile discipline of the spiritual life.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the profound power of prayer, not as a mere recitation of words, but as a transformative force that reshapes both the individual and the world. Drawing upon centuries-old wisdom and the experiences of spiritual giants, the author explores the essential elements of creative prayer. He emphasizes the need for silence and meditation, not as esoteric practices, but as foundational disciplines for quieting the soul and listening to the voice of God. Through compelling stories and insightful reflections, the author challenges the modern tendency to equate prayer with self-centered pleading. Instead, he presents prayer as a dynamic dialogue, a communion with the Divine that flows from a humble and undivided heart.
