ELEMENTARY MECHANICAL DRAWING
CHAPTER I INSTRUMENTS AND MATERIALS 1. Introductory.
The instruments used in mechanical drawing may be divided into two distinct groups: first, the set of instruments, generally in a case, consisting of a compass, dividers, ruling pens, etc., and second, the drawing board, T-square, triangles, etc. To secure good results in mechanical drawing good instruments are necessary. Economy in the purchase of instruments is unwise, because drawings made with inferior instruments will be of inferior quality in technique. A good set of instruments with proper care will serve the student's needs almost indefinitely. The instruments of the second group, such as the drawing-board, etc., may, however, be of medium grade, if the cost of the very best is prohibitive.
The materials used may also be divided into two parts: first, such materials as drawing-paper, tracing-paper, tracing-cloth, and printing-paper; and second, pencils, erasers, inks, etc. The drawing-paper m

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book provides a thorough introduction to mechanical drawing theory and practice while including chapters on geometrical drawing, mensuration, and reproduction of drawings. The book traces the history of mechanical drawing from simple geometrical problems to describing complex objects. The author emphasizes the importance of accuracy and precision in linework, dimensioning, and geometry while also discussing lettering, cross-hatching, and other conventions of the drawing room. The author offers techniques to solve geometrical drawing problems, lays out how to properly measure and calculate areas and volumes, and explains how to make copies of drawings. This book will help students and draftsmen alike understand the principles and application of mechanical drawing. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781440059308_0
