Malcolm C. Kirwan, a native of the island nation of St. Kitts-Nevis in the West Indies, shares with us a very personal and reflective portrait into his consciousness with his poetry collection "My Reflections Painted with Verse." In his professional and public life, he has absorbed himself in four passions - a 35-year professional career at the University of the Virgin Islands until his retirement in 2005 as the vice president of administration and finance; a commitment of more than 30-years to community service as a member of the International Association of Lions clubs culminating in his elevation to Chairman of the Council of Governors for the English Speaking Caribbean and the Guyanas; sharing his knowledge and experience through speeches and lectures to give individuals and work groups a larger vision of themselves, and a greater sense of personal empowerment; and an untamed desire to probe his imagination and consciousness for the discovery of self, and to reduce his explorations to an experiment with verse and other forms of expression.His collection of poems, published under the title, "Painting My Reflections with Verse" reflects the reverberating echoes of his imagination in its encounters with the experiences and mysteries of life.
