Juan Ernesto Sarmiento has lived in the Netherlands for over 20 years, first working with a group of North African Immigrants in Amsterdam and since 2007 as a Social Psychologist. As a practical academic, his expertise not only comes from his theoretical training but also from his broad experience in different countries with issues related to diversity, identity, minorities, community organizing, community life, grassroots level networking, social justice, religion, and discrimination, among others. He has learned that The Netherlands "has won the battle against water" as well as other significant adversities. This is a proposal for improving group dynamics and cooperation among groups.He lives in Amsterdam, one of the most diverse in the cities in Europe. He and his wife Christine have three children.
