Joice I. Overton has published three books to date, with one having gone to a 2nd edition in 2003 when over 10,000 copies of her first book were sold. All of her books were published by Schiffer Publishing, Atglen, PA. each book was non-fiction genre and covered the subject of Cowboys and Native American gear and equipage as was used in the 18th and 19 centuries. Her first book, titled "Cowboys Bits and Spurs" was published in 1998, her second was "Cowboy Equipment" published in 1999 and her third, "Cowboy Americana" published in 2000. Ms. Overton is also a regular writer for the New England Antiques Journal and has published several articles in various magazines; (a detailed listing can be furnished.) Joice books were recently inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame and Museum at Dallas, Texas and may be viewed there. Joice lives on a small horse ranch in Eastern, Oregon where she works full time on her writing. She has been interviewed by local Television stations, radios and newspapers, and her books have been reviewed in many magazines and trade journals. Recorded tapes and clippings can be made available. Book signings have included Barnes & Nobles and various other bookstores and fairs throughout the Northwest. Joice has worked for a long time in the non-fiction world of literature, books, trade journals etc. and she feels it is definitely time to go "fiction." Choosing her own favorite subject, "Historical Native American, her first novel is titled "THE SPIRIT TAKER." It is a novel with an 1876 setting that begins in Lynchburg, VA.
