Author (L.) with Mark Whitacre Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, Florida 2003 About the Author Stevin Hoover was born in Pennsylvania. He was educated at the United States Air Force Academy, the University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Arts, the Universität Hamburg (Germany) where he studied philosophy and language, and Boston University where he received a Masters in Business Administration. He began his business career in Germany as a stockbroker. After returning to the U.S., he founded the investment management firm of Hoover Capital Management. In 2002, he received an eighteen-month prison sentence for prohibited transactions by an investment advisor. In 2003, he entered federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, where he met Mark Whitacre. He lives in Florida and Mississippi.
