My mother said, "In all my pregnancies May 23rd was the unpredicted fastest delivery I ever encountered. I walked into church and without warning I was having labor pains and before I knew it church was interrupted I was surrounded by the Deacon's wives and was ushered into a baptismal room and there a baby girl was born - Dorothy (means a gift of God)." My name is Dorothy Nhamo Chitembure). I am a Zimbabwe who recently obtained Citizenship in United States. Whilst in Zimbabwe I worked in Tourism for over fifteen years and it was during that time that I met and married an American; that is how I came to USA. After my divorce, I committed to what I love most - helping the less fortunate. In 2005 I was awarded a Woman of Achievement Award by the YWCA for my efforts in helping and bringing awareness to the impoverished country of Zimbabwe; a country so devastated by inflation and a staggering 85% of unemployment with my entire family right in the mist of it. Friends would say "take care of yourself first so as to be able to take care of others" But I wonder if there is such a day that one would say "I think I now have enough so let me now help others" If I had listened, I could have still been trying to take care of ME and I cannot even phantom how many live could have been lost that I have saved in my sacrifices and I will continue to do so as long as God permits. In my efforts I produced a CD that consists of poems and songs from my native country and 100% of the proceeds went to helping 15 children that I am helping through school and elderly widows with no source of income. I believe everything happens for a reason and my writing this book is for a reason. ONE WOULD ASK "IS THIS A GOOD BOOK?" I would said "READ IT AND TELL ME"
