ABOUT THE AUTHOR Minister Smith began her ministry in Detroit, Michigan. Jesus Christ came into her life in April 1974, and she was ordained September 5, 1975. With an overwhelming desire to touch and uplift those in crises, my aunt's Metropolitan Jail Ministry began. She ministered to people on the streets, in the down town area of the city. My aunt has an introduction that describes her belief and philosophy: "I'm Minister Smith. I am here to tell you that Jesus loves you, and so do I." She ministered to inmates incarcerated in the local jails for 17 years. For 15 years she ministered love, and comforted patients in the Detroit General Hospital's trauma units. She still continues to share this message of love, through her ministry in Writings and guest speaking. By Cathy McClelland
