In Enon, Paul Harding has written a powerful, deeply moving and brilliant successor to Tinkers, a debut that John Freeman on NPR called “a masterpiece.” Drawn always to the rich landscape of his characters’ inner lives, here, through the first-person narrative of Charlie Crosby (grandson to George Crosby of Tinkers), Harding creates a devastating portrait of a father desperately trying to come to terms with the loss of his beloved thirteen-year-old daughter, killed in an accident. Through a distilled mosaic of memory and fantasy, Crosby struggles through the aftermath of this tragedy, seeking some measure of reconciliation.

PAUL HARDING has an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. In 2010, he received the Pulitzer Prize for fiction for his debut novel, Tinkers. Harding lives in Georgetown, Massachusetts.
