Livre 3 sur 3: Contemporary Issues in Social Policy

Synopsis

The chapters will: challenge hegemonic notions that politics only pertains to electoral politics; explore the intersection of gender, ethnicity and faith in people's political engagement and citizenship; examine the role emotions and feelings play in political activity; provide first-hand accounts of contemporary activism; canvass new political repertoires which blur the division between public and private and harness new communications technology. From these understandings the book will provide a cogent analysis of political participation and citizenship from different perspectives and advance the dialogue about the shape of politics and citizenship for the 21st century.
