The intersection of women, sexuality, and politics are at the forefront of popular discussion today but despite the rise in research and public awareness about rape culture and gendered violence, women's bodies continue to be treated violently. Disrupting Rape Culture uses case studies from the United States and the United Kingdom to interrogate how the female body is challenged by, and can itself challenge, gendered violence. Rape culture continues to thrive in contemporary society; this book demonstrates how it happens, the politics that are mobilized to sustain it, and what we can do to put an end to it.
