Synopsis
Andi rushes back to Shenmadock, the ultimate weapon of mythology in her possession. But when she and her friends return to Shenmadock they find a land ravaged by war. Impossibly the invading army have already razed Unedar to the ground, and they march for the capital. Stefon and his friends head for Jow, rumours of civil war on their minds. When they reach Jow they find a duchy fleeing an invading army. Only the return of the legendary Jow Captain, The Black Slayer will give Jow hope of resisting the dark horde. Arlon and his Generals face an impossible task, staging a defence against an unknown enemy whose numbers exceed any seen for more than a century. Meanwhile he must decide what to do with the traitor Duke Karl, and how to bring a nation of nobles together in order to save the realm. As Lesjac's army marches on Shen Utah, all these principals will be brought together in a final reckoning wherein the proof of a Dark Prophecy will be measured and the fate of the world will hang in the balance.
