In the heat of the desert, in the loneliness of a cave, an aged scroll master discovers true life and learns soul changing secrets. Spiritual warfare, the tragedies of life, the frustrations of too many empty years and a dedication to the God of the Hebrew children combine with the musings of a man whose very life was framed austerety and sacrifice. Not until this elderly monk met a young man from Galilee did his life become meaningful. Then a physical task of spiritual proportion redirected his path into a situation that would demand his all. Eden's Door brings death to life and brings the spiritual into the physical realm.

He writes children's books, short stories, and is the creator of the "Christmas Box". This creation addresses development of character qualities, strengthens family ties, keeps the spirit of ancestors alive, and ensures that things that should be said are documented for the recipients to read time and again. The Christmas Box provides an envelope to open monthly containing gifts, money, and special messages. Mike has the blessing of Cherokee blood from his grandparents on both his mother's and father's side. He writes with a Native American twist and has an alter-ego of Great Bear, Chief of Cherokees, allowing him to share wisdom and personal development truths with his grand daughters. He is a staunch family man, a church-going Christian, and one who believes that many people enjoy reading clean, healthy, and enlightening books.
