When a terrorist attack devastates the U.S., crippled Navy SEAL Alvin "Buck" Rogers and beautiful Russian GRU agent Tanya Koltovic must secretly enter the living hell that is Iran to find seven more warheads hidden there before al Qa'Ida can use them to cause the breakdown of western civilization. While the President works to keep the US Ballistic missile Submarines from inadvertently starting World War III, Americans across the nation are trying to cope with the sudden loss of telephones, electricity and transportation. The injured are dying with no one to help. Crime skyrockets because there are no functioning police. With no fire engines running, fires burn out of control. Soon the death toll rises into the millions. GRU agent Tanya Koltovic learns from her father that there are seven more warheads from a stolen SS-18 "SATAN" missile hidden in Iran. She and Lieutenant Rogers are the only ones who can find them in time to prevent the further destruction promised by al Qa'Ida which is believed will cause the breakdown of western civilization. Biographie de l'auteur

Born in 1930 at the beginning of the Great Depression, Mr. Lowrie is no stranger to poverty and deprivation. In 1948, he joined the Navy serving in the Pacific as Aviation Electronic Technician and Radioman during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carriers Valley Forge (CV 45) and Bedoing Straits (CVE 116) and in the Military Air Transport Service (MATS). He was at Eniwetok Atoll briefly during the time of the Bikini Atoll atomic bomb tests in 1953. In 1957 he left the Navy to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering which he received with Special Honors from the University of Colorado in 1961. Concurrent with his studies at the University he worked at the Boulder Laboratories of the National Institute for Science and Technology (NIST). He continued at the NIST Laboratories for a decade after graduating from the University before leaving Government service to take a position in industry. In 1983, he was assigned a new responsibility that led to his developing expertise in the field of Electromagnetic Interference. At that time this field was in its infancy, and serendipity placed him in contact with the core of scientists and engineers who developed the international standards and requirements and how they may be met. This story reflects the depth of his experience in these disparate areas. He presently lives with his wife in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.
