Adam J. Reissner was born in Newark, New Jersey, in 1937. He graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering in 1967. Reissner enjoyed a thirty-six year career as a research and development engineer with Union Carbide Corporation. Twice-married, he has two children and two stepchildren.
