Synopsis

As seen through the eyes of the School Secretary, we can follow life on an elementary school campus for one school year. There’s a bomb threat by a disgruntled parent, a teachers’ strike, an invasion of head lice, bus tickets, bullying, sick children, a child lost on the way home, a first grade boy who tries to “feel up” the psychologist while she’s testing him, and a teacher who goes into labor on the way home from a field trip. The entire staff is involved in the lives of the children and their families but also in the lives of the other staff members. The head custodian falls in love with a teacher’s aide while the Secretary and a teacher struggle to keep their love secret. They all work as a team until the strike threatens to break them apart. However, the weakest link in the chain, the School Clerk, proves the love that keeps Lincoln Elementary a happy and successful school.
