James Wegert has earned three college degrees, but he has learned the most from the School of Hard Knocks (making mistakes including bad dating choices). He has over fifteen years of experience in human services at the Boys' Club, a children's home, the "Y", and in school as a school counselor. He also has extensive experience as a volunteer Sunday School teacher and church youth group leader. He wrote Straight Talk About Dating, Straight Talk About Teen Dating (for preteens and teens) with a Christian emphasis and True Love Lasts (for age 12 and up) with a character emphasis in order to communicate many things that he wishes he would have known before he started dating and during dating - with the hope that readers will save themselves much heartache by avoiding the mistakes he made. He strongly feels that people can maximize the possibility that they will have a lifelong loving marriage if they put in the effort required to complete the journey of preparing themselves for dating and marriage.
