The Author introduces the reader/traveler to life in the Caribbean through anecdotal references over a period of eighteen years. These are burnished with a story line detailing the transition from a comfortable retirement in the model community of Reston, Virginia to a challenging and adventurous assimilation into the young and developing country of St. Kitts.

Mr. Zimmer was born in 1923 in Cortland, New York. After high school, he volunteered for service in the United States Army Air Corps and spent nine months in combat from Utah Beach Normandy to Czechoslovakia. He was on detached service with the infantry and received five battle stars. Upon return to the States, he spent six months in an Army hospital in critical condition. It was through the G.I. Bill that he was able to attend Syracuse University and graduated in 1949 with a degree in economics. He went on to complete one year of Law School at The University of Virginia. After a thirty nine year career in sales and management, specifically with libraries, he realized his life long dream of retirement in the Caribbean where he divides his time between his residence in St. Kitts and the States to visit his family.
