Biographie de l'auteur

Carol Piner is a retired Realtor residing in Carteret County, NC. She has a multitude of interests which include a love of orchids. She has been growing orchids for over 25 years. Without the benefit of a greenhouse, she decided to convert a screen-in porch by adding a special plastic, a humidifier and a fan. This success produced an ability for her to grow as many as 250 orchids and 100 deck plants. In August 2008, without formal classes, she began to paint in oils and acrylics. By June 2009, she had eighteen canvases. Her work has been exhibited at the local History Place, Senior Citizen Center and Bogue Banks Library. In May 2010, she painted "Raven" which was to become the cover of her book. "Raven" has her mother's eyes. It is not for sale. She has completed forty two canvases which spanned Caribbean, coral, ladies on the beach and other beach scenes. With the economic slowdown and the consequent dip in real estate sales, she stopped painting to finish the book she had started years before. With the encouragement of several people in her office, especially Mrs Pauly Brown, wife of Lee Brown of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, she completed her book, Evidence of Insanity in June 2010
