JOHN LASSETER (Foreword) is a two-time Academy Award®-winning director, chief creative officer at Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, and principal creative officer at Walt Disney Imagineering. MICHAEL BIERUT (Introduction) is a graphic designer, design critic, and educator. He studied graphic design at the University of Cincinnati, and has been a partner in the New York office of Pentagram for over fifteen years. In addition to co-founding the website Design Observer and writing several books on the topic of graphic design, Michael is a Senior Critic in Graphic Design at the Yale School of Art, where he has been lecturing since 1993. PIXAR ANIMATION STUDIOS has produced fifteen feature films, beginning with Toy Story in 1995. Its feature films have made over $8.9 billion worldwide, with an average worldwide gross of $592.3 million per film. Both Finding Nemo and Toy Story 3 are among the 50 highest-grossing films of all time, and all of Pixar's films are among the 50 highest-grossing animated films, with Toy Story 3 being the alltime highest, grossing over $1 billion worldwide.
