Darleen V. Peterson (M.A., M.P.H., Ph.D., M.C.H.E.S.) is Associate Professor of Practice and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Claremont Graduate University (CGU). She is the founding director of the Master of Public Health Program in the School of Community and Global Health at CGU. She served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine, as well as Assistant Director for the Master of Public Health program at the University of Southern California (USC). Her research interests include health communication, specifically the evaluation of statewide tobacco control campaigns and the assessment of pro-tobacco marketing activities. She received an M.A. in Communications Management from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication, an M.P.H. in Community Health Education from California State University, Northridge, and a Ph.D. in Preventive Medicine (Health Behavior Research) from USC. She is a masters-level certified heath education specialist.
Robert M. Huff (M.P.H., California State University, Northridge; Ph.D., University of California, Santa Barbara Graduate School of Education is Emeritus Professor of Public Health at California State University, Northridge. Prior to joining the faculty at CSUN, he was a health education practitioner for the Charles Drew Postgraduate Medical School in Los Angeles and Ventura County Public Health Services and Medical Center. As a professor at CSUN, he has taught graduate courses in public health education in the areas of program planning and evaluation, health behavior change, communication and media, cross-cultural issues in public health, holistic health, and other related courses. His research interests combine his undergraduate training in anthropology with his graduate training in public health and education to focus on multicultural health promotion and disease prevention programs in a variety of settings.
Michael V. Kline (M.P.H., DrPH) is Emeritus Professor of Public Health at California State University, Northridge. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses that train students and practitioners to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion and education programs within a variety of health settings, population groups, and public sector and community organizations. He received his M.P.H. degree in public health education and behavioral sciences from the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health. He received his DrPH degree in medical care organization and health administration from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Public Health.
