Biographie de l'auteur

Paul Breer grew up in a small up-state New York town, went on to Harvard College for his B.A., followed that with a two year stint in the U.S. Army, and concluded his education with a Ph.D. back in Cambridge. In subsequent years he taught or conducted research at the University of Wisconsin, Cornell University and Dartmouth Medical School. Between university appointments he conducted a private psychotherapy practice, first in Hanover, New Hampshire and later in Boston Mass. Since retiring he has spent most of his time writing books, essays and music. Some of his books explore questions of value (sociology) and free will (philosophy); others focus on music and the fine arts. His essays offer analyses of humanistic psychology and Eastern philosophy. Some of his musical compositions feature orchestra and chorus; others are written for smaller ensembles including classical guitar. The Reluctant Savior represents Breer's most recent work of fiction, the previous two being Illusions of the Heart, a set of two novellas exploring the world of internet romance, and Tashi, the story of a young girl who falls in love with an older man.
