Jacqueline J. Rhoades (Jacquie) holds a Masters of Science degree in education from Mt Saint Mary’s College Los Angeles as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Long Beach State University. As the owner of The Reading Company, she received Minority Advocate of the Year awards from 3 members of the United States House of Representatives, three members of the California State Senate, and five members of the California State Assembly. Reading Coordinator, literacy leader, elementary teacher, secondary teacher, special education teacher, college instructor, education specialist in special education for eight northern California counties are among the many roles that inspired Jacquie’s curriculum. As an instructor, she developed and modified, final products using feedback from her students and fellow teachers. Her service in education led to a local Teacher of the Year Award, Teacher Recognition Award for Outstanding Service in the Teaching of Reading, and Merit Award for Outstanding Service as an Adjunct Professor at Dominican College San Rafael Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education Credential Programs. Jacquie’s publications have been used as textbooks in classrooms, University, and homeschooling enviornments throughout the United States and in fifteen additional countries. After living in the country, surrounded by orange trees and truck gardens, she traveled and worked in many places throughout the U.S. and the world. She now resides with her family in Rancho Cucamonga, California, near her childhood home. While there are very few orange trees and truck gardens these days, it remains a very nice place to live.
