Joe Farr was raised in the small southern Oklahoma town of Davis, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school he attended the University of Oklahoma where he graduated in 1961 with a BBA. After working for 11 years for the JCPenney Co. he moved to New Mexico and opened his first KFC in Portales in 1973. During his 35 year career as a KFC franchisee he owned and operated 10 restaurants in New Mexico and Texas. In 2007 Joe sold his restaurants and retired to a life of fly fishing and RVing. He lives in Ruidoso, New Mexico with his wife Gay and their Golden Retriever, Donald Chester. The three of them enjoy traveling through the Rocky Mountains seeing new beautiful scenery and fishing the greatest trout streams in the United States.
