Kathleen and her two sons (Noah and Jonah) wrote and illustrated this story from their home on the island of Saipan in the Northern Marianas Islands. They wrote this story just for fun and enjoyed reading it to children of Chamorro, Carolinian, Filipino, Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese descent - to name a few! They were amazed at how much this story resonated across all cultures. This prompted them to consider publishing it for others to enjoy around the world! In the final editing process, they felt moved to use this book as a tool to instill the importance of self esteem at a young age. They developed questions that parents or teachers can ask children as the story is being read that stress the importance of self-worth and sharing your feelings in a loving and supportive environment. While the book is written from a Christian perspective, it can be used with any child to start talking about feeling good about who they are in this world! Kathleen holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work. She has many years of counseling experience in medical and educational settings. Noah and Jonah are fun loving boys who enjoy expressing their creativity through drawing and writing. This book could not have been possible without the love and encouragement of Kathleen's loving husband and the boys encouraging father - Nicolas.
