Synopsis

The Commander's Wife is Pamela Grayson; Commander Grayson an average soldier willing to take a chance, requiring action beyond his own high code of ethics, so that he would achieve a position of prominence not otherwise available to him. In marrying him, Pamela has gained a measure of respectability not otherwise hers, and assured of its continuation, albeit through mediocrity. A newly minted Academy Lieutenant, Richard Hartley becomes opportunistic upon Pamela's persuasion, even though against the Commander's ultimate goal of redemption. The Commander's Wife tells of the immorality of amorality, the devastating effects of putting one's self and others at risk solely for the excitement of their reactions and one's own.

À propos de l?auteur

George Hook was born in Chicago. His education includes the Junior Military Academy, the Missouri Mili-tary Academy, Knox College in Gales-burg, Illinois, where he majored in English Composition and Political Science, the Armor Officer School at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and the Judge Advocate General’s School. He served three years in the US Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps after graduation from the University of Chicago Law School, including a tour in Viet Nam. In college and through-out his legal career, he has written short stories and poetry. Several of his short stories were published in the Knox College “Siwasher,” now renamed “Catch” in obeisance to political correctness. Vowing to eschew finalization of his literary works until he was of such an age as to have experienced life to the full, he began that process to culminate in publication upon his retirement from professional life. Currently, he is broadening his horizon to book length works of fiction and non-fiction.
