Synopsis

Few great painters have had the uncanny ability to transition between the worlds of teacher and artist--Auseklis Ozols is one of them. He founded the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, where he emphasizes the classical disciplines of artistic instruction. In this fascinating biography, author John Kemp uses Ozols' own paintings to reveal the life of the talented artist and teacher dedicated to passing down the lessons of the great painters of the past.
