The author assembled photographs of over 150 psychology leaders in the Veterans Administration (VA), later re-named the Department of Veterans Affairs. The scanned photos cover the years from 1946 to 2005 and are stored in the VA psychology archives at The Center for the History of Psychology, Archives of the History of American Psychology at the University of Akron.

Rodney Baker served as historian for the Association of VA Chief Psychologists and its successor, the Association for VA Psychologist Leaders. He co-authored one book on the history of VA psychology published by the American Psychological Association ("Psychology and the Department of Veterans Affairs"). In addition to this photo history book, he has edited two books, "Stories From VA Psychology" (Authorhouse.com) and "More Stories From VA Psychology," (CreateSpace.com) and both are also available from Amazon Books. Finally, he has contributed several book chapters for others on topics ranging from benefits for veterans, veterans' health care, and the VA psychology training program.
