Chander Mehra, 79, is a former editor-columnist and author/novelist. He is versatile, his first book (1975) being Encyclopaedia of Sports and Games and terroirsm (Jihad zagainst Jihad (2014). His other books are: Wonderland of Nepal (1976), Understanding Hinduism (1989), Management Made Easy (2000) and Corruption: Dealing With the Devil (2000}. His first novel, Jihad Rediscovered (2010), was banned by several Islamic states. The manuscript of his book, Good Governance: The Great Debate, was seized by an African junta and is lost for ever. He is a cancer-surving insomniac admtted to a Delhi nursing home where he lives and spends time writing on his ramshackle typewriter. "There are three gates to hell: Lust, Greed and hate," he says; "I steer clear of all these and am content with my evening drink and candy-guzzling continuously."
